If you search for “The Perfect Landing Page” you will come across a ton of articles that describe how to make a landing page that converts your traffic, 100% guaranteed… well, I guess that is up for debate but I digress.

These articles are well written, well researched and have a lot of great information on what works in the real world and are far superior to anything new that I could tell you about creating landing pages.

A lot of the articles go into depth about A/B testing and sum up their findings in really easy to read infographics.  Some even dive into the nitty gritty of whether your Call to Action color should be red or not? (spoiler: it really depends on a lot of different factors and there is no clear cut winner)

Three excellent examples of perfect landing pages come from Unbounce, Croud and Formstack.

While they all are slightly different landing pages.  They all include the same main features any landing page should have:

  • A Unique Selling Proposition with a header Title, Subheading and brief description
  • Relevant images aka Hero Shots
  • The key benefits of what you are offering
  • Some social proof or testimonials
  • An incredibly easy to click call to action or two

Combine all these elements together and you have a great starting place for your new product or service!

Getting back into programming and web development, I decided to create a bootstrap template for the perfect landing page so that I didn’t have to reinvent the wheel every time that I wanted to create a new project.

I built the Croud version (by Theodora Chan) of the landing page because it was the most simple but I also added the Formstack Logo/Site Name and links at the top of the page.

You can download all of the HTML and CSS files from my Github account.  If you see anything that could be improved, definitely let me know or fork it and update it yourself!
